Goodbye old friend.

I didn’t have the Land Cruiser for as long as the GX, but I loved it. I had hoped for it to be Luke’s first car, but it apparently needs a new transmission and he doesn’t have enough money in his piggy bank to replace it. I am on the lookout for another GX or two though, so he might end up with one of them.

Family reunion.

Yesterday we drove down to Forkland, Alabama to gather with kinfolk from my mother’s side of the family. It was nice to see aunts, uncles, and cousins. Luke really enjoyed the socializing as well as the food. Another highlight included the hay bale sculptures at the front of the farm.

Puzzle champion.

I feel like this deserves its own post. Last night Luke and I went to a jigsaw puzzle competition put on by a schoolmate at a nearby church. There were 35 teams of two vying to complete a 300 piece puzzle the fastest. Our system was for me to separate the edge pieces and pass them to him for assembly. We then divided the remaining pieces by color and then latched them together. I assumed we were doing well because we were ahead of the folks nearest us, and we did in fact finish before anyone else. Luke was pretty ecstatic. Prizes included a trophy, puzzle, and gift cards for each of us.
