A stereotypical Monday.

And this is why Mondays have a certain reputation. The framers didn’t show. Hopefully they will come tomorrow. Their boss told me something about Smyrna and trouble. No idea what that means. I just did some cleaning and organizing around the site. Home building is a roller coaster. Also lost a clip on my tractor and had to go a couple of places to find a replacement. Fortunately not all the way to the Kioti dealer in Murfreesboro. I asked at TSC about a new arm for my three point hitch, but they said that I would need to go to the dealer for that. I don’t have any interesting pictures, just the tractor parts.

A lot more Little Man on a Sunday.

It was a chill out around the house kind of day. The thermostat was set on 74 degrees and I was freezing. That is probably a result of spending most days out in the 90 degree heat. So it was nice to relax today. My parents came over for lunch and it was good to see them.

A nice and relaxing five hour day.

I took it easy this morning and didn’t head to the farm until about eight. The downside to that was the fact that it was already blazing hot by the time I arrived. I spent some time talking with James, my next door neighbor, and did some cleanup around the job site. The framers came and put up a few more rafters before running out of big nails. They moved on to sheathing after that. I left about two, and they told me that they expected to stay another hour or two. I know that want to be finished by the end of next week.

A little more Little Man on a Saturday.

I didn’t go to the farm until a bit later than usual this morning, so I had time to snap a picture of Luke while he was still sleeping.

I returned fairly early in the afternoon so I was able to hold him and change lots of diapers. He had a couple of fussy spells but was pretty relaxed overall. He was asleep during the Preakness, but we’ll be sure that he is watching the Belmont Stakes, as nobody wants to miss a potential Triple Crown winner.

Raise the roof!

They put on ceiling joists today and also started on the rafters. We got a little rain this afternoon, like yesterday, but it wasn’t enough to slow things down too much. I saw a couple of deer in the back field this evening.
