This morning I went to Kroger first thing. The experience wasn’t as bad as expected, but it was still nice to be finished. Luke and I played a lot this morning, and created a “wrecking ball” for his crane out of materials that Liz acquired at Hobby Lobby yesterday. This afternoon we played some more and Luke and Liz made pumpkin bread. This evening Luke was a little wild, but we got the house cleaned up and him bathed. Liz is with him now starting the bed time routine. Soon I will head to the Mountain for what will hopefully be a very productive three days.
Wet, but still active.
This morning we went for a walk at the battlefield in Spring Hill, then to Home Depot for a few things, next to the Factory in Columbia, and finally to the farmers market just before everybody packed up for the day. This afternoon Luke and I did a lot of playing. This evening he was really tired and went to bed early.
Pretty much all day in the car.
This morning I left the cottage at 6:15 and drove to Dixie Salvage in Fort Payne, Alabama to pick up my vanities. The plan was to get them, then install them. Unfortunately only two of the three would fit. So I told them I would return on Monday for the third. After dropping those two off at the job site and getting some free breakfast at the lumberyard, I decided to return for the third one, then drive home. So I did. It was a tiring day, but it was nice to see Luke and Liz. We played with Legos until dinner. He was a bit wild at bath time, but calmed down eventually and went to bed without fuss.

The long days continue, as does productivity.
Another early start. I got everything set up and then my dad came and we worked on finishing the cabinets and countertops. I feel like they look pretty great. This afternoon we went outside and finished the soffit. We also made great progress on the fascia. This evening I am just relaxing at the cottage and looking on my phone for trucks.

Yet another long day, with a bit more to show for it.
This morning I left the cottage a little before seven. I stopped for diesel then picked up a ladder at the lumberyard before getting to the job site. I unloaded all the tools and was setting up when my dad arrived. We decided to start working on the kitchen cabinets since it was a little cold and very windy outside. The installation went really well and we made good progress. There were two cabinets that we couldn’t finish because I need to relocate an air vent. I also cut some of the countertops to length. My dad finished installing the window trim, and it looks great. This afternoon we returned to working on the soffit and made good progress, although we didn’t finish. It was dark when we packed up and left. We got pizza to go from the Goat Market and ate it at the cottage. I have just been relaxing this evening, and will go to bed soon. I’m not going home tonight, and will instead take the day before Christmas Eve off.
