Lots of driving.

This morning Liz took Luke to school and I left at the same time to drive to the Mountain. First I stopped at the Lowe’s in Tullahoma and the market in Pelham though. Next I went to the dump to drop off cardboard, and was on my way to the storage unit when the delivery guys called to say they were five minutes away, which was about an hour early. So I went to the job site and we unloaded the appliances without issue, thanks in large part to the tractor. After that I organized the storage unit a bit, went to see Eric briefly, then headed home via Fayetteville. I actually went a new way from Fayetteville to Lewisburg that was really pretty. At home I loaded up the trash and took it to the dump, returning jut before Liz and Luke arrived. We played a bit before dinner, then ate, followed by bath and bed time. He was pretty amped up for the latter two, and it took a lot to get him to bed.

Snow day, slow day, throw-away day.

Last night the snow started around eight. I had trouble sleeping, perhaps in anticipation of going out to take pictures. The snow was lovely this morning, and after getting dressed and gathering my camera equipment I went out to take pictures. Fortunately the roads weren’t in bad shape at all. First I went to Lake O’Donnell, then Green’s View, followed by a stop at the big chapel in the center of campus. It was a nice start to the day. The pictures below are just from my phone. After returning to the cottage for breakfast I went to the storage unit. Unfortunately the lock was frozen shut. I went to the lumberyard and bought some potion to unfreeze the lock. It didn’t really work. I took that as a sign to go rest at the cottage for a bit before driving home. The roads weren’t bad at all. I went by Big Box to check out flooring, but neither Zach nor Alan were there. Back home I played with Luke until dinner time, and then we cleaned up afterwards. I hope to get to sleep early tonight.

The cold is here, and snow may be joining it.

It was chilly and wet this morning. We went to Target after Liz made waffles. We also drove up and down the whole Spring Hill “strip” looking for a plastic sled. Our search was unsuccessful. We just played a lot before and after lunch, and didn’t really work on any projects. I left the house a little before three to beat the supposed one to three inches of snow that will be hitting the Mountain tonight. I stopped at Home Depot in Winchester and Piggly Wiggly before settling in at the cottage. I am curious to see what I will wake up to in the morning. Camera batteries are charging now.

New year, still here.

Luke was up pretty early this morning, so everybody else got going as well. We went to the park at Port Royal for a while. After lunch I went into town to look for some flooring, but Zach’s place was closed. I drove up to Spring Hill and visited the bookstore and Home Depot before returning home. Luke and I worked on a couple more projects including installing a board and hanging curtain rods in his room. He was pretty well behaved today and went to bed without trouble tonight.

Challenging day.

This morning Liz and Luke made breakfast cookies. First we went to Kroger for gas, then drove up to 100 Oaks. We looked at flooring at a couple of places, took Luke to a playground, then went to Patel Brother’s grocery. We cut our trip short because Liz started to have headaches. Back at home Luke had a major meltdown that lasted nearly an hour. This afternoon Liz ran some errands and Luke and I took down the Christmas tree and decorations. We also played with some Legos. Dinner went well and bed time was long, but he is asleep now.
