Another fun day.

This morning after we ate breakfast cookies we drove to Port Royal only to see lightning once we arrived. So we continued on to Target, where Luke got a new stuffed monkey and we saw our neighbors. From there we went to Kroger then home for lunch. We didn’t even try for quiet time or a nap, instead just driving around so he could sleep in the car. later this afternoon Luke and I went to Port Royal so that Liz could have some time to herself. Fortunately she made blueberry pie while we were away. Luke enjoyed swinging and seeing the splash pad. Back at home we had dinner and did the normal routine afterwards. I won’t go up to the Mountain until tomorrow.

A hot and busy day.

This morning after breakfast we went to the farmer’s market and got several things, including mushrooms from some new vendors. We took our bounty home and then headed back out to the garden center and Lowe’s. We returned home and I started working outside – weedeating, mowing the grass, and organizing stuff. After lunch and quiet time Liz and Luke went shopping but I kept working. I went to the dump and started packing tools to take to the Mountain. It was hot but I wasn’t too bothered. Late this afternoon we went over to Hampshire, where a blueberry farm was having a little festival. We picked blueberries, listened to music, and had a great time. That made dinner and bed times really late though.

Another unproductive trip to Alabama.

I slept very poorly last night and didn’t get as early a start as I would have liked. After breakfast I drove down to Albertville, Alabama to a place that had listed some tongue and groove cedar for sale at a decent price. Unfortunately it was pretty crummy wood. So after a phone call to my dad for consultation I returned to the Mountain. I had a lunch meeting at Shenanigan’s in Sewanee. The food wasn’t great and was a bit overpriced. Back at the cottage I loaded up the trailer and headed home via Lynchburg. It was great to see Luke and Liz. We had dinner and then clean up, bath, and bed time.

Not much rain but plenty of mud.

This morning I took Luke to High Hopes and then we went to Home Depot and Publix. Upon returning home I packed up, said goodbye to Luke and Liz, and hit the road. I drove to the Mountain via Fayetteville. Once there I took a tote of water to the job site and mixed concrete for the block corners. I also moved some dirt although that was slow going due to the mud. After doing all I could I returned to the cottage for a much needed shower and have been relaxing since.

More driving, shopping, and computering.

I slept very poorly last night for some reason. This morning I went to the library parking lot to place an order with Home Depot, but the card was declined. I went to the bank to get it sorted, then returned and was successful. I went by the supply store and messed around a little before meeting the guy who bought the green house in order to discuss his driveway. After that I drove to Winchester to visit O’Reilly and Home Depot, then continued to Cedar Direct in Chapel Hill. In Columbia I stopped at the dump then went to the garden center on the other side of town where Liz had found a bird bath that she liked. After buying it I finally went home. Luke was waiting for me and we played some until Liz got off work, then he “helped” me adjust and install the new return air filter. Dinner and bath went well but he was pretty amped up at bed time.
