Building bridges.

This morning after breakfast John and I worked on a bridge at the back of the property. We dragged a couple of old telephone poles across a “creek” and put them into position. We went into town and bought wood for the decking, but didn’t install it. After lunch and Luke went down for his nap Liz and I drove up to Baldwin to get some ice cream at one of our favorite places. This afternoon Luke played outside and didn’t go to bed until nine. Liz and I went shopping at Meijer and didn’t return until almost eleven.

Life’s a beach.

After breakfast we loaded up and headed over to the lake. It was a bit cooler over there and very pleasant. As you can see from the pictures below we pretty much had the place to ourselves in the beginning. Some other folks arrived later but they stayed a ways away from us. Luke enjoyed playing in the sand even if the water was a bit too cold for enjoyment. We got a takeout lunch from a nearby sandwich shop and ate at a deserted park. Back at the farm Luke played outside a bit and explored his grandfather’s camper van, Buzz. Dinner and bath time led to a nice and early bed time for everybody.

More fun Monday.

Luke slept in again this morning, thankfully. He had speech therapy in between outside play times. Lots of sticks were picked up. He ate a massive lunch and then had a decent nap. Afterwards he played outside a lot more, mostly around the barn where he watched the horses. John and I spent the afternoon finishing up the fence. We actually worked on it after dinner as well, but did finally get it done. It was a bit warmer today.

Super lazy Sunday.

Luke slept in a little this morning, which was nice. After breakfast everybody was just sitting around doing nothing, so I decided to take a very long nap until after lunch. Once Luke woke up from his nap we went for ice cream at Fremont Lake then to the playground at Liz’s old elementary school. The day ended with another camp fire.
