Unexpected homecoming.

I got an early start hauling the sand to the site and unloading it. Then the mason emailed to say that he wouldn’t make it until maybe Saturday. So I finished the sand, cleaned the footings, returned the U-Haul trailer, packed up, then drove home. I stopped on the way at the Swiss Pantry in Belvidere, which was nice. I had never been before. It was good to see Luke and Liz. I arrived just in time for lunch. We spent the afternoon reading and playing, then went to the playground after his nap. The weather is lovely and it was great to be outside. Dinner and bath time both went well. Liz is at the grocery store now. I should probably be cleaning or something.

Hot and busy Saturday.

We went to the greenway and farmer’s market first thing this morning. Then we raced up to the doctor’s office in Cool Springs. Luke had a few bug bites that Liz wanted to get checked out. It took a long time and we got back home for a late lunch. Then Luke had a nap. His only one of the day. This afternoon we went to the park in Spring Hill. Luke had lots of fun with his beach ball.

A year and a half!

After getting done what I needed to on the Mountain, I came home this afternoon. Luke is 18 months old today. It was great to see him and give him a little present, a huge Crayon full of Legos. He seemed to enjoy playing with them and spreading them around the house. It is still very hot so we didn’t go outside this evening. He only had one nap today which led to a slightly earlier bedtime. I’ll stay here tonight and return to the Mountain in the morning.

More heat, more walks.

Well, they are saying that the end is in sight. Thursday is supposed to be the last day of temperatures in the nineties. I’ll believe it when it happens. Today was pretty miserable again. Fortunately we were able to talk a walk at the new nature park before it got too warm. Luke didn’t take a morning nap so his afternoon nap was early, but long. He woke up just in time for the Lions to lose to the Chiefs. We went to the greenway before dinner so that Luke could run around some more. He had fun. We ate dinner, played a little more, then he went to bed.
