Passing inspection and covering walls.

I arrived at the job site at seven this morning, unloaded the tools, and got all set up to work. Then I waited for the inspector. He arrived just before nine and gave me the thumbs up. I started work on the walls but needed a rubber mallet, so I went to the lumberyard. They didn’t have any for sale but did loan me one from the paint department. back at the house I worked until about 2:15 and made decent progress. I stopped by the Goat Market and ordered a pizza, went to the cottage to pack up, returned to the Goat Market and ate some of the pizza, then hit the road. I stopped at Home Depot in Manchester to buy some nails, then drove on home. Luke and Liz were playing outside when I arrived, but then we came in and built a Lego tower before dinner. After dinner we cleaned up and Luke took a bath, then I showered. I was just starting to relax when Liz said that she needed a color inkjet printer to print an iron-on think for Luke’s Halloween costume that he will wear to school tomorrow. So I drove up to Target in Spring Hill and got one. Now she is messing with it and I am not sure when I will be able to go to bed.

Another busy day.

This morning Liz made pancakes and then we went to Home Depot and Publix in Spring Hill. After lunch we drove to Bloomsbury Farm in Nolensville for “Octoberfest”. We mainly went to see Maria the baker who had a booth set up with pretzels, pumpkin muffins, and apple strudel. They had a zipline and little climbing net, which Luke enjoyed. We finished up the excursion with free grilled cheese sandwiches. Back at the house I played with Luke for a bit before driving to the Mountain. I am about to start watching Casino Royale on my phone.

Fun morning at the zoo.

This morning after breakfast we drove up to the Nashville Zoo to meet my parents. We walked all over and saw lots of animals, plus a train and zipline. Luke particularly enjoyed watching people on the zipline. After leaving we drove home for lunch, then went to the farmers market, which was moved to the afternoon due to a 5k race happening in the morning. Unfortunately less than half the vendors were there and those present had pretty limited stock. We still managed to get a few things though. Liz and Luke weeded around the yard this afternoon, then Luke and I built a Lego tower. Dinner was nice and now Luke is in bed.

Finally insulated.

This morning I got to the job site about 7:40 and got to work. I was feeling pretty motivated and made good progress. A pretty scene at Laurel Lake on the drive in also had me feeling nice. It took until mid-afternoon, but I got all of the wall and vaulted ceiling insulation finished. That was a good feeling. After showering back at the cottage I went to the Goat Market to chat with Eric for a bit. Then I packed up, chatted with Debbie next door, and drove home. I arrived just as Luke was finishing dinner. It was good to see him for a bit.

More insulation.

This morning I got up early and played with Luke. When he went to school I drove up to the Mountain. After messing around the cottage for a little bit I went to the job site and installed insulation in the walls. I made great progress and should finish up tomorrow. Tonight I will find a fun book to read.
