Much ado about not much.

Luke struggled again last night and I was up until 5am working on house designs. Liz was a bit under the weather today too, so she pretty much took the day off work. There was a little snow on the ground this morning but not much (first picture). It snowed a little more this afternoon (second picture). Luke and I again both failed to take naps, though I stayed in bed for much of the afternoon just resting. He was a bit out of sorts and not in a very good mood. On the bright side he went to bed very early, as did Liz. Hopefully I will sleep well tonight.

Getting more ready for the snowpacolypse.

Luke had a really rough night, waking up a lot and being kind of sick. This morning I ran to Publix in Spring Hill for just a few more things. There was a little black ice in places and I slid a few times. We spent the morning just kind of relaxing. About 11:30 Luke fell asleep on the couch and slept for nearly four hours. I tried to nap but was unable to. We didn’t do much this afternoon either. Supposedly we are going to be home bound for several days. It is plenty cold now.

Getting ready for the snowpacolypse.

I didn’t go to bed until about 3:40 this morning because I was working on a new house plan. So I was in pretty rough shape upon getting up. After breakfast I went to Kroger for groceries since there is major snow on the way, supposedly. Later in the morning we had a video chat with my parents. Luke and I both failed at afternoon naps. Before dinner we swapped out some of our daylight light bulbs for soft white, and that was a really nice change. We will do the rest tomorrow. Dinner and bath time went well.

Cold, slick, and busy day.

After breakfast Luke had some sort of potty training session on a video call, so I took trash to the dump. The deck was covered in a layer of ice and was very treacherous. Upon returning home I showered and then took Luke back to the children’s museum. Today was a much better experience. Everybody was wearing masks and there were no bigger kids running around. Apparently there was no school yesterday. Luke was more active and I chatted with other parents while he played. We left without fussing, but he raised Cain on the drive home. He was in a mood through most of lunch, until he was surprised with some pumpkin pie. That improved his demeanor considerably, but did not help him nap. At two o’clock the attorney came by to close on our refinancing of the house. That went well and it feels great to be saving a lot of money. Later this afternoon we all went to Home Depot for light bulbs and air filters. Luke had a big time there. He ate a good dinner including more pie, and went to bed without issue.

Rain, surprise, museum, nap.

This morning it was rainy and nasty when we drove up to High Hopes. There was only one other car in the parking lot when we arrived and the lady said that they were opening at nine. So our 8:15 appointment was cancelled. Luke was pretty disappointed and we drove back home. We had snack and then went to the children’s museum (basically a play area) in downtown Columbia. It was an okay experience. A little crowded, very few masks, and just pretty hectic overall. Luke seemed to enjoy it though. We were late coming home and lunch took a little while to cook. He did nap, but only after a struggle and it was about 2:30 by the time he fell asleep. He woke up and had a snack, then Liz got off work and they played together for a while. At dinner he had his second serving of pumpkin pie of the day, and was thrilled about that. Bath and bed times went pretty well.
