Garage Mahal.

Spent a lot of time cleaning out the garage today. Still have a ways to go but this was a good start. Took some trash to the dump. We went to the park in Spring Hill with Luke this evening. Made another meal in the slow cooker – vegan chili.

Nashville time.

This morning I drove up to Nashville to help my dad plant some shrubs at his house and another property. We also gave away a lot of tile from his storage unit and helped the guy load it. He got roughly half and will hopefully return for the remainder. Then we will be able to get our stuff out of the back of the unit. This evening my parents came down for dinner. That was very nice. Luke enjoyed playing with them.

Lots of Luke time, lots of parking lot time.

I looked after Luke this morning. We read a lot and then went for a walk along the greenway. The day was lovely and it was great to be outside. After lunch Liz and I drove up to Brentwood. She had a doctor appointment so I waited in the car. My phone was locked up the whole time so I just sat there. Next she went to Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx. My phone still wasn’t working but I didn’t want to shop, so I again stayed in the car. I did go in to Office Max to get some munchies because I was hungry. Lastly we stopped at Home Depot in Spring Hill to get some supplies to make Luke a cool activity board. We had dinner (rice and beans that I prepared in the slow cooker), then FaceTimed with Liz’s dad. I rounded out the evening by going to Kroger.

Inspection and return home.

This morning I went to check out the block in the daylight. There were a few little issues but overall it looked okay. I also had to finish putting in about a dozen anchor bolts for the green plate. Then I filled the blocks at the bases of all openings. It ended up being about 14 small bags of concrete total. I returned to the cottage and cleaned before driving home in the rain. There I read to Luke and played with him until dinner. After I gave him a bath.

The masons finish.

I was beginning to think that the masons wouldn’t show, when at 9:30 or so got a text saying that they were at the job site. Jason said he forgot to text when he left this morning. I had to run down to Manchester to get support boards, but it was a pleasant drive. The guys worked hard, but it was a big job, so they didn’t finish until about 8:30. My phone has been acting up and I might have to get a new one.

The masons finally arrive.

I got to the job site early this morning and began to prepare everything for the mason and his crew. And then I waited. At ten I emailed to see if he was still coming. At 10:35 he wrote that they were on the way. They arrived at 11:45. The mason brought four other guys with him. Two looked like they were in middle school and the other two looked like they were on work release. But they got after it and worked hard until dark. After they left I had dinner at the Mountain Goat Market. They say they will come between seven and eight tomorrow morning. I asked him to text when he leaves home.

Lots of errands.

This morning I made a huge list of tasks to complete and spent the day checking items off. Nothing exciting, but very necessary. Late this afternoon we took Luke on a walk at the nature park. He had a nice time.

Back home, frustrated.

I heard from the mason this morning. He said he could come Saturday. So the wait continues. I did get more sand – 4740 pounds worth! The trailer is pretty much maxed out. I came home and loaded some of my cedar onto the flatbed trailer. I also hauled trash to the dump. LIz and Luke were at the doctor’s office, so they were surprised to see me when they returned.
