Intermittent rain on the Mountain.
Some heavy rain today but I still got done most of what I need to. And managed to see the goats and photograph the fireflies. I also stopped by Lake O’Donnell, but the clouds kept things low key.

Father’s Day gifts and the Mountain.
Below are pictures of a couple of nice things I received yesterday. The first is a picture of Luke watching me while moving some dirt with the tractor. The second is a drawing that Liz had a friend of hers do, it is a close up of Luke while I am carrying him in the baby carrier. Both are lovely.
I waited until rush hour traffic cleared this morning, then drove to the tractor dealer in Murfreesboro. They didn’t have what I needed, so I continued onward. There was a lot of Bonaroo traffic headed into Nashville, but not much in my direction, fortunately. Once in Monteagle I was able to do everything I needed to before photographing the fireflies on the Goat Trail.

Father’s Day.
It was a pretty nice one. Luke was in a good mood and very active. He started off with a FaceTime call with Liz’s parents/ My dad came over for lunch and played with him for a while. My mother stopped by later on her way home from Alabama. I spent the late afternoon/early evening putting down grass seed and straw in the yard.

Getting more done on the Mountain.
I woke up in time for sunrise, but didn’t get out of bed, because it didn’t look like it would be very interesting. After breakfast I cut down a couple of trees in the front yard, with my dad manning the rope. I next went to my lot and did a little clearing and staked out the building footprint. This afternoon I worked the phone and ran some errands in town before driving home. The weather was glorious and I took the back way.
Driving all over creation on a beautiful day.
Murfreesboro – Woodbury – Jasper – Monteagle. Took the very long and scenic route to Jasper, mostly to avoid Bonnaroo traffic. Accomplished most of what I needed to at every stop. Got to Monteagle and met up with my dad at the cottage. Took care of some stuff in town. Went to the back side of campus to photograph fireflies.

Driveway and sunset.
Worked on a lot of stuff today but my main focus was the driveway spur to the garage. First I brought over a bunch of concrete blocks, then smashed them with the sledgehammer. I put gravel on top of that. There wasn’t enough block to complete the task, but there is more gravel. I might just put in down directly on the mat. I went to Lowe’s and Wal-Mart this evening, and saw a lovely sunset.

Mountain Monday.
Had more work to do in Monteagle. Also tasks in Winchester and Jasper. Things are coming together. It wasn’t too long of a day on the road, and I was back in time for dinner. The next couple of days will be at the farm, hopefully getting a lot done.

The slow cooker worked hard today.
For the second day in a row the promised rain never really materialized. I made two dishes in the slow cooker and we went on a nice walk this evening. I just got done photographing fireflies in the back field again. I’m not very pleased with the results, but will keep trying.
