Breakthrough.
The electrician came this morning and finished everything up. What a relief. We will get inspected on Tuesday. I did a bit of cleaning and organizing. We are really close and hopefully Liz and Luke can come down next weekend if the inspections go well. The weather was glorious today. I came up to the mountain this afternoon. I talked with Debbie next door for a while then drove over to campus. The goats weren’t out, but it was a little late. This evening I have just been reading a Bob Lee Swagger book. I might only have a couple left after this one.
Off the rails.
The weather stayed warm and we got a bit more done today. My dad used the tractor to move a lot of dirt around the house. That looks a lot better and will help with drainage. I built a railing on the landing in the garage and finished boxing in the wall in the apartment bedroom to cover the pipes for the mini split.

Inching closer.
My dad came down and we got some more stuff done. The electrical inspector did not come and the electrician is not responding to communications. The weather is much warmer, which is very much appreciated.
More power.
Well, the plumber/electrician pretty much finished up today. The electrical inspection is Thursday. I came up to Nashville this afternoon and we went out to dinner to celebrate my dad’s birthday. I’ll spend the night here.
Last warm day before the deep freeze.
The electrician came and made some progress. Hopefully he will finish up tomorrow. He says we should be able to get inspected on Thursday. I got a number of things done too. Didn’t take any pictures, will tomorrow. Glad the heat is on here in the house.
Lethargic.
I had hoped to go on a nice hike or two today and really enjoy the pleasant weather. Instead I stayed indoors reading. I finished the book but wish I had hiked too. That would have done me some good. But I wasn’t feeling very motivated. I didn’t go anywhere except to Piggly Wiggly this morning. I waited until after dark to drive back to the farm. I hope to get a lot done this week, possibly including obtaining a temporary certificate of occupancy. That might be a bit optimistic though. It is supposed to be bitter cold, but not much chance of snow.

Sunny day, not sweeping cares away.
I did some light work this morning. A little spackling and window scraping. My friend Tim came by to check things out. I left for the mountain about noon, taking backroads. It is a little cooler up here, but still nice. I saw the goats and visited with Debbie at the pottery shop next door. I feel a little bad about coming up here when the house isn’t finished, but I do need a shower. It will be nice to have a day’s break too. Not sure what I will do though. Missed sunset because of my socializing, but that’s okay. Might try to read some.

Grate, not great day.
Finally got a hold of the electrician who said he will come finish on Monday. Got vent covers from the HVAC guy. Most will need a bit of work to get in place. Spackled a bit, which was really tedious. Resisted the urge to go to the mountain this afternoon. Will go tomorrow.

Back on track!
Well, it was a pretty good day. My dad came down and we got a lot done. He focused on finishing up everything that needed to be done in the bathrooms. This included some trim and transitions between tile and laminate flooring. That has really made a huge difference in how they look. I finished hanging drywall in the garage. Tomorrow I will tape and mud it. It is supposed to be very cold tonight and tomorrow so maybe I’ll just do inside work.
