Still not done, but closer.

It was a pretty low key day on the job site. I started loading up my trailer and packing my tools. I also finished up a couple spots of flooring that I had overlooked. We went out to order stair treads and had to go a couple of different places. After that it was lunch time, and so we dined at La Hacienda on Nolensville Road. When we returned I cleaned up some and then hit the road. Tomorrow I will load up all of my tools and the leftover materials and head to the farm. Not sure if I will do much work there or just unload. Today was miserably hot, which really demotivated me. Tomorrow is supposed to be even worse, before it cools on Wednesday.

Back at the condo Luke was in a good mood. We played with his bookimal (book/animal) and he nursed a lot. He will get a bath later. Liz said that he pooped several times, which was good to hear, since he didn’t at all yesterday.

Busy day for the Little Man.

This morning we took Luke up into town to see the project my dad and I have been working on, and where his grandparents will soon be living. He also met their neighbor, Mr. Holt. After that we went for a walk at the AG Center. We only did two laps instead of our usual three. He was getting a little antsy, plus we spent a bit of time talking with a couple that had two springer spaniels. I was afraid that Liz might offer to trade Luke for the smaller one! Back at the condo everybody napped for a while. This afternoon we did tummy time and just relaxed.

My parents came by this evening. Unfortunately due to his napping and feeding they weren’t able to see much of him. Hopefully they will be able to return this week. He is a little fussy now but nursing seems to be calming him down.

Loving the book toy.

Luke and I played with a little toy that is a combination animal and book this evening. He really engaged with it. After dinner he got a bath and as usual was very relaxed about it. I think we are going to start trying to bath him every other night. He nursed well this evening. We didn’t do tummy time.

Not the final day after all.

I stayed in bed until about 7:30 this morning, which was wonderful. Luke got up about the same time, so I was able to say hello to him before leaving. I drove down to the farm and got my trailer, then picked up the remaining flooring at Big Box. There wasn’t too much traffic up into Nashville. I finished the floors and did some clean up. Unfortunately the trim and other stuff that I was going to haul back with my trailer wasn’t ready, so I left my trailer and will return Monday. Pretty frustrating, but such is life.

Long afternoon with the Little Man.

I got back to the condo pretty early this afternoon and was able to see Luke while Liz nursed. He then took a long nap (unfortunately I did not). After he woke up we relaxed on the bed for a little while. He did some tummy time and really stayed up for a while, but didn’t roll over. Later this evening he’ll get a bath.

Burning out.

Arrived around six this morning and enjoyed a nice view from the roof. It was still pretty muddy, so I spent a bit of time cleaning up outside. It looks a lot better now, but there is still a bit to do. The dumpster is pretty much full though. I didn’t get much else done. I helped my dad with a little trim and did some inside cleaning. We picked up some things we needed at Lowe’s and went by the marble shop. After that I was just feeling exhausted, and since tomorrow is going to be a very long day I decided to pack things up and head home. Tomorrow morning I’ll drive down to the farm and get my trailer, pick up the remaining flooring at Big Box, then head into the city to install the flooring and haul off some unused materials. Then it’s back to Columbia to drop off the trailer and tools. It will all take a while, but at least then I’ll be done and ready to start back on the farm next week.

Four months!

Well, the Little Man has been with us for a third of a year now. It’s still pretty surreal. He had his four month doctor visit today, and the doctor was very pleased with how he is doing. Overall he has been doing pretty well. Getting a little fussy at times, but nothing major. He is nursing great, and actually hasn’t had any formula in nearly a month. He seeps at least seven hours every night. He seems to enjoy going on walks. He can really hold his head up high during tummy time. He hasn’t gotten sick yet. It feels like he has been pretty low maintenance, relatively speaking, but I don’t have much of a frame of reference.

More rain.

After a few days of slacking off I arrived at the site just before six. It was humid. I worked on the floors until I ran out of material. I also noticed that a bit of my flooring was ruined by water that came in during yesterday’s rain. So that is really frustrating. I reworked all of the French doors in order to ensure that they closed properly, and hopefully won’t let any more rain in. Just as soon as I finished that up it started pouring down rain. We packed up and left. This was around 3:15, so another pretty short day. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Rain drain and happy Little Man.

We were clicking along pretty good today until it started pouring down rain around three this afternoon. I had to run to Dollar General for towels to clean up water that had come inside. After that it was so muddy that we decided to call it a day instead of making a huge mess inside the units.

So I got back to the condo around 4:40 and spent some quality time with Luke. We did a couple of rounds of tummy time and played with some of his toys. He was in a good mood. It was also bath night.

Short day, little turtle, seven years ago.

The Google Photos app on my phone occasionally sends me little notifications about what I was doing on this day in previous years. Today’s action was from Guanajuato, Mexico, specifically the statue of Cristo Rey. That was cool, because I was able to show it to the Mexicans on the job site today. One of them said that his grandmother was from Guanajuato.

I was a little late to work this morning, arriving around 6:30. It was a productive day though. Lots more flooring went down, along with more doors and trim being put into place. It was hotter than forecast, but I had the big fan running. I still think it is possible for me to finish up the flooring tomorrow. Unfortunately that will involve a lot of moving my tools around, since there is work remaining in all four units. I left about 3:40 and came back to the condo.

Luke was in a pretty good mood when I arrived. We played a little bit and did tummy time. He can really hold his head up high now. I told Liz he looks like a turtle with his neck all stretched out. He rolled over again too. Unfortunately I didn’t record it.
