Good start to the week.
Today I focused on getting the walls and ceiling ready for painting. This involved filling nail holes, knot holes, and caulking. My dad came and helped also. After finishing I drove down to Home Depot in Manchester to buy paint and primer. Then my dad and I went to have dinner at the campus dining hall.

Slower Sunday.
Due to all of the activity yesterday, Luke slept later this morning than he has in a long time. That was pretty nice. Liz made pancakes for breakfast and we went grocery shopping at Publix a little later. After lunch Liz and Luke raked leaves and I organized the garage a bit. I also processed a couple of pumpkins. I’ll head for the Mountain after dinner.

Lots of new experiences.
This morning we woke up early and played a bit before and after breakfast. I also took trash to the dump. A little before nine we all got in the car and drove out to a farm in Santa Fe that Liz had found online. They were selling cinnamon rolls and some vegetables, and we got a little of each. They also had a fun play area that Luke enjoyed. We met another family with a son Luke’s age and chatted with them for a while. Time went by so quickly that we realized we needed to leave and go to the farmers market while the bread sellers were still there. So we went and picked up our bread and had lunch at home. This afternoon we went to Yanahli Park for “Hike and Seek”, which involved looking for little notecards in the forest. Finally we came home for dinner and the bedtime routine.

Beautiful start, monotonous day.
I was on track to get to the job site at 6:30, but it was lovely at Laurel Lake, so I set up my big camera and took pictures for nearly an hour. Eric stopped by and chatted on his way home from an early hike. At the house I spent the day filling in nail and knot holes with spackle and Durham’s, respectively. I did make a trip to the lumberyard for more spackle as mine was pretty dried out. After work I stopped by the Goat Market, the cottage, and Debbie’s before driving home. Luke and I played around and video chatted with my parents before dinner. He entertained us while we ate and then took his bath and went to bed. I hope it will be an early night for me as well.

No start means no gains.
I woke up in the wee hours this morning and couldn’t fall back asleep. Luke woke up pretty early too and I read to him some and then we played hide and go seek. I drove him up to school and we chatted the whole way. Drop-off went well with just a little tearing up, but he went to the cozy corner and relaxed. I drove home and after doing a few things headed up to the Mountain. I did some computer work and organizing at the cottage, then went next door to see Debbie. She is having a hard time because her dad is about to start home hospice. She and Autumn will be flying up to Massachusetts on Saturday to be with him. She had two ladies helping her make candles and I prepared the cardboard and packing peanuts for disposal. This evening I have just been reading and relaxing.

Early start means big gains.
I got to the job site around 6:25 this morning and launched into it. I cut wood for the bathrooms and then installed the remaining wall and ceiling materials. My dad came and finished up the trim painting outside. We wrapped up this afternoon and I was driving to the cottage when Dillon called and asked if he could come get some logs. So I returned and loaded him up and we chatted for a bit. Back at the cottage I grabbed some clothes and my computer before heading home. I did stop at Chick-fil-a in Tullahoma for some tasty food. I arrived home around seven, as Luke was taking his bath. After he finished I talked with him a little bit before bedtime.

Still taking advantage of the nice weather.
I got to the job sit about 6:40 this morning and started cutting wood. Once my dad arrived he helped me install it on the ceilings. We finished all three bedroom and we swept the house clean. After he left I worked until dark to cut more lumber for tomorrow. I returned to the campus dining hall for dinner, and again had a great meal.

Taking advantage of the nice weather.
I took some pictures at Laurel Lake this morning before getting to the job site. I continued to install the wall boards. My dad came a little later and finished installing the tub surrounds. Next he did some touch up painting on both houses. My final act of the workday was to bring over another bundle of wood from next door. This evening I had dinner at the Sewanee dining hall and it was delicious.

Family time.
We met my parents at Lauren’s house and all had lunch. Luke enjoyed playing with Wild Dog. I left home a little after five and drove up to the Mountain, stopping at Home Depot in Winchester on the way.
A fast moving Saturday.
We went to TJ Maxx, Bargain Hunt, and TSC this morning. Luke ended up with a book, rake, and puzzle for his troubles. After lunch he took a car nap and awoke at Home Depot. There we bought bird seed. This evening was pretty relaxed.
