Getting some things done.

Another slow start this morning. But fortunately another Insanity workout. I just goofed off until about noon, when I went over to the house. There I watered the trees, messed with the front door, cleaned up some debris piles, and scraped for the driveway. I do feel like the place is looking pretty good. I went to the library to use the internet and saw that they will be closed tomorrow. That spurred me to drive down to Manchester to get a cord for my printer at Wal-Mart. Back at the cottage I printed some flyers and a few other things. Around sunset I drove over to the house and took a few pictures at Laurel Lake. I saw Eric sitting outside the Goat Market so I stopped and chatted with him for a while. I’ve just been chilling at the cottage since then. I talked with Liz earlier and am now wishing that I had a good book to read.

An unproductive, but enjoyable day.

I was a bit slow getting out of bed this morning due to last night’s late drive. Upon finally rising I did an Insanity workout followed by breakfast. I went by the house to see if the plumber had done anything, and he hadn’t. I drove down to Lowe’s in Kimball and bought several things, then went to Ingles in Jasper before driving back to the cottage via Tracy City. I had lunch and then went next door to see Debbie. Charles was there too and Randy came by for a bit as well. I ended up staying there until about eight. It was nice to just talk and relax. I talked with my parents and Liz on the phone this evening. Liz said that Luke had a good day, including trips to the farmer’s market and a nice park on the other side of town. I hope to get a lot done tomorrow. I will further organize the house and try to post it for sale online.

Active day with Luke.

This morning Luke was able to say goodbye to Uncle Matt, Miss Krystal, and Tchopa before I drove him up to High Hopes for speech therapy. That seemed to go pretty well and he enjoyed it. We played at home for the rest of the morning. While he napped I drove up to Brentwood to meet my dad. After Liz got off work we went to the nature park for a nice walk. There was a threat of rain but it never materialized. I went to the grocery store for a few things while Liz bathed Luke, then we talked for quite a while after he went to bed. I finally hit the road around nine, and had an uneventful drive up the mountain.

More of the same.

Luke and I played and read this morning. During his nap I took garbage to the dump. This evening Uncle Matt and Miss Krystal came to stay with us on their way home from Michigan. Luke had fun playing with their little dog. I’ll try to get a picture of them together in the morning. We had pizza from the place in Spring Hill and it was pretty good. We were all on the back deck until the storms came.

Productive day in the valley and on the Mountain.

This morning Luke and I played until ten. Then Liz took me to the mechanic to get her car. From there I drove to Monteagle. I got a few things done that I needed to then chatted with Eric at the Goat Market for a bit. I got home just as Luke was going to bed. Liz put him down early because he didn’t have a nap. I went to Kroger this evening for a few things.

Some rain and no car.

The morning went pretty slowly. Luke and I read and played and it rained a whole lot. He had a very early lunch and nap. My parents came by just as he was waking up. He enjoyed reading lots of books with them. At four I texted the mechanic to see if Liz’s car was ready. At 4:30 I still hadn’t received a response so I called. He said hopefully tomorrow. That kind of throws my plans for tomorrow out of whack. Oh well, it is what it is. After Liz got off work we went to the nature park. It was extremely humid but Luke loved seeing tons of butterflies. We had pasta for dinner and Luke was a little late going to bed. I am now doing more work on my business website.

Another roller coaster day.

This morning Liz took Luke to speech therapy and I took her car to get repaired. I got there at nine and she came to get me a little after 10:30. Luke and I read and played before a late lunch and then nap. I was working on my business website when I got a call from the mechanic saying that he had a couple of things to show me. I drove over and he showed me where unidentified rodents had chewed through a bunch of wiring. He said that I needed to go to the Toyota dealership for replacements and that it would probably take a few day to get them. I did, and they told me that they couldn’t search Lexus parts, and that I needed to get the Lexus part number for them to be able to cross reference. Well, and hour of internet searching yielded nothing and so I finally went back to the counter and told a different guy that I was willing to take a risk and to just sell me the parts for a V6 Highlander. He looked at the parts I had brought in, then went and found me some used one in the back. He said they were from insurance repairs and wouldn’t let me pay for them. I took them back to the mechanic, who was quite impressed, but it turned out that we needed one more. So I returned to Toyota, got another, then dropped it off at the mechanic’s, just as he was closing. I was relieved to have that done, and he said he was still on track to be finished by end of day tomorrow. After dinner this evening I went to Target for some diapers and paper towels but they were out of the latter. Back at home I finished my book on Alexander the Great.

Hot and boring.

Luke is continuing to wake up super early, despite going to bed at a reasonable time. He spent some time outside with Liz this morning before it got too hot. After nap he finger painted on the front porch, then he and Liz made muffins. He sure loves that! This evening I am mostly just reading a book I got on Alexander the Great.

Hot Saturday.

Liz and Luke made muffins this morning, which was a real treat. Next we went to the farmer’s market for bread and a watermelon. We walked over to the school playground and Luke went down one of the slides a whole bunch of times. We were all sweating by the time we returned to the car. We did some chores around the house and Luke took a nice nap. He has been eating lunch at 11:30 and napping at noon. I spent a bit of time working on my business website and preparing the advertisements for the house to print and post online. After Luke went to bed I went to Kroger. I bought a massive amount of food, but the experience wasn’t too bad, as there weren’t many other shoppers in the store.

Finally Friday.

Luke and I played some more. I calculated that the lumber for this next house will cost at least $6000 more than it would have last summer. That pretty much set the mood for the day.
