Solid progress.

Well good news, it looks like we’ve got a guy to handle the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work at the house. The even better news is that we should come in a bit under budget. I really feel good about him.

The framers continued their steady progress. The porch roof is finished, and the remainder of all the roof decking is on. They are close to finishing the wall sheathing. All that remains is vaulting the ceilings, finishing the sheathing, putting on house wrap, installing the windows, and correcting a few oversights/errors. Probably two more days worth.

Starting to look like a house.

The framers really got a lot done today. I continue to be amazed at how fast they work. It has been a great boost to my spirits to see this progress.

I went over to Chapel Hill this morning to inquire about HVAC services. That didn’t work out, but this sign pretty much made the trip worth my while.

The back field looked beautiful.

A stereotypical Monday.

And this is why Mondays have a certain reputation. The framers didn’t show. Hopefully they will come tomorrow. Their boss told me something about Smyrna and trouble. No idea what that means. I just did some cleaning and organizing around the site. Home building is a roller coaster. Also lost a clip on my tractor and had to go a couple of places to find a replacement. Fortunately not all the way to the Kioti dealer in Murfreesboro. I asked at TSC about a new arm for my three point hitch, but they said that I would need to go to the dealer for that. I don’t have any interesting pictures, just the tractor parts.
