Happy birthday America!

This morning I finally got out of bed at a reasonably early hour and took some pictures. That was fun. It was another hot day, but we still had a nice time. After lunch we headed over to Liz’s brother’s house for a bit of a family gathering that included all of his in-laws. Luke got to see his cousins and meet some more new people. He handled it pretty well. He has been walking a ton with assistance, and is really ready to be walking on his own. I’m sure that will happen sooner rather than later.

Great lake!

Well, we hit the road today and headed to Lake Michigan. It was a little hot and the sun was bright, but the water was nice and cool. Unfortunately the “beach” was a bit crowded and narrow – a combination of high water and dune grass meant that there wasn’t much sand to play on. Oh well. Even more frustrating was the fact that I left my phone in the car, so couldn’t take any pictures. I’ll try to get some from my mother-in-law. On the bright side, Luke had a blast. He was a bit nervous at first, but he started to have a great time splashing around in the water. We went to lunch at a hot dog place that Liz and I had been to previously and then made the drive home. Sunset wasn’t as pretty as last night, but it was still lovely out.

Construction, cousins, and cows.

It was another active day. We went on a walk in the nearby park this morning, before it got too hot. We also went to Wal-Mart, which was a bit of a different experience the the Meijer that we went to a couple of times previously. My father-in-law and I worked more on the house. We didn’t finish, but made good progress. This evening we went to see Liz’s cousins again and Hannah showed us her cow. Luke enjoyed that. I again didn’t photograph sunrise or sunset. The bit of sunrise that i could see from the bedroom window was lovely, but I was just too tired to get up.
