Little Mountain, Little Man.
It was raining this morning so I didn’t go photograph. I focused on my tasks and left mid-afternoon. The drive home was lovely – storms threatened but never materialized. Luke was waiting for me back at the farm. We played a bit and after he went to sleep I photographed lightning bugs in the back field. Again just one camera, but two different interpretations below.

Good day on the farm.
It wasn’t unbearably hot today, so I was able to get a bit done. I removed all of the ash and junk from the burn pile in the back field, scraped it down, then added topsoil over the top. Tomorrow I’ll plant grass seed on it. I also mowed the back field, which looks pretty good. Now I am in the midst of finishing the final grading around the whole house. The tractor isn’t the ideal tool for this, but it’s what I’ve got. The big dirt pile in front of the house is nearly gone, and hopefully will be completely removed by the end of the week. I want to plant grass seed on all of the dirt before the rains come in.
Luke did great today and is really enjoying having Liz’s mother here. He has been showing her all of his funny faces and new tricks.

A walk, lots of flops, and a visitor.
We went on a nice walk this morning before it became too hot. Then we played a lot. Then Liz’s mother arrived. She will be staying for the week. Dinner was on the back deck.
