Extending our stay in Michigan.

We decided to stay another week with Liz’s parents instead of returning home today. This will allow us to help them prepare the farm for winter. The weather has been glorious here and should be for a couple more days. Luke is having fun and I am enjoying being done with the house. I do look forward to going home though. This morning we went for a hike at a lake a little north of the farm. This afternoon Luke’s third cousins Hannah and Kate came over to play outside with him. In between he ate a lot and napped.

Enjoying Michigan.

I did not sleep much last night and woke up well before dawn. Luke also got an early start. After breakfast we went out and worked on repairing doors on the equipment shed. That took most of the morning. After lunch Luke and I napped and then did a little more work outside. As the pictures indicate we also had a little fire and the sunset was lovely.

Closed and on the road.

Well, it was a pretty wild day. I got up early and drove to Nashville to help my dad do a little work at Lauren’s condo. That went pretty quickly, and so I contacted the title lady to see if I could come sign the paperwork for closing the house. She said yes, so I drove to Smyrna and signed, then headed north to Michigan. The drive was long but uneventful. About halfway there I received word that the buyer had signed and funds had been wired. That was a relief. I arrived at Liz’s parents a little after nine and got to see Luke for a bit before he went to bed. Now I am exhausted.
