Another challenging day.

This morning Luke and I went up to High Hopes. I dropped him off and went to get Liz’s oil changed and also went by Aldi. He kind of flipped out but I think it is good for him to do some things by himself. His therapist said that once he calmed down he did really well. After therapy we went to Pinkerton Park and met my parents. Unfortunately it was rather cold and windy, but Luke still had fun. In an effort to warm up we all went to Sprouts grocery store just down the road. It is a nice place and I bought several things. Upon saying our goodbyes to my parents we drove home. Luke fell asleep on the way and was in a daze when we got home. We had lunch and attempted a nap. That did not go well at all he raged and threw up, then raged some more and made a mess of his room. Finally I gave up. We played until Liz got off work, and then I did a bunch of work on the computer until dinner time. We ate pretty quickly and he had an early bed time. I went on a brief exercise bike ride and spent the rest of the evening looking at trucks and trailers online.

Frustrating Sunday.

Luke was a bit of a challenge today. He woke up super early and was rowdy. We went to the playground in Spring Hill so he could run around, and he enjoyed that. He interacted with some other kids and did lots of climbing. From there we went to Lowe’s, where I gathered more paint samples and Luke looked at lawn mowers. We came home for lunch and he didn’t nap for the second day in a row. Maybe he will tomorrow when I am putting him down again. One highlight from the afternoon was seeing birds at the feeders that I put out yesterday. Hopefully even more will come. Luke was very wild this afternoon and had me and Liz pretty frustrated. Dinner wasn’t much better, although he was at least funny. Bath and bed times were early due to no nap. I had a good ride on the exercise bike this evening and am now just messing about on the computer. I will try to go to bed early tonight.

Fast day.

This morning while Liz and Luke were eating breakfast I went to Kroger. It was nice that not many people were there, but less nice that I had to use the self checkout. They had almost everything on my list though. Luke enjoyed helping put the groceries away when I returned. While he and Liz went outside I built some more bird feeders and made hangers out of some little electric fence posts that I got at TSC yesterday. Unfortunately the feeders were way too heavy so I made some lightweight suet cages and hung them instead. I tried to nap this afternoon but was just able to lay in bed for a couple of hours. After dinner I did another exercise bike workout and finished The Expendables 3. This was the first time I used my heart rate monitor, which will be useful for tracking my workouts.

The rain arrives but we are still active.

This morning after his Zoom therapy Luke and I went on an epic trip around Columbia. We started off at Office Depot, then visited Lowe’s, Tractor Supply, Ace Hardware, and Sunbelt Rentals. He had fun at each stop, especially Lowe’s. We came home for lunch and he took a good nap this afternoon. Dinner and bath went pretty well. He was poopy right at bedtime, so that delayed things a bit. This evening I did a good exercise bike ride and then watched a little more of The Expendables 3. The bike rides are helping me sleep better at night, I think.

Sunny weather continues.

Luke and I drove up to High Hopes this morning and he did really well at speech therapy. From there we drove to Henry Horton State Park in Chapel Hill and met my parents, who were driving back from Monteagle. We had a lot of fun at the really nice playground there. Luke enjoyed the slides and collecting gumballs. We drove home for lunch and after a struggle he took a nice nap. We played until Liz got off work. This evening I went on another exercise bike ride, then started watching The Expendables 3 on Amazon Prime.

Still beautiful outside.

It was a challenging day as Luke was a bit of a handful pretty much all day. We went to the Spring Hill playground again this morning and he enjoyed seeing a lot of other kids. He didn’t want to leave and fussed when we did. After lunch we tried to nap but he didn’t. We played Legos and read this afternoon. Liz is bathing him now. He should go to bed early tonight. I will try to ride the exercise bike again shortly.

Enjoying the lovely weather.

This morning after breakfast Luke and I went to the playground up in Spring Hill. There were only two other kids when we arrived, but upon leaving an hour and a half later there were lots. Luke had a great time and didn’t want to leave. We only left because he went exploring around the park and he tripped in a big puddle, soaking himself. After lunch he took a decent nap, and once he woke up we played until Liz got off work. I worked on the computer on some house stuff until dinner time. Now he is getting his bath and I will go ride the exercise bike again. I have 42 minutes of The Expendables 2 left, and will try to finish tonight.

Pretty active day.

Luke and I got started this morning by driving up to High Hopes. He did great at speech therapy. Our next stop was Home Depot. He had fun there and we bought some bird seed, suet, and a fancy light bulb for Liz. We went to Publix after that in order to get yogurt, dino melon, sweet peppers, carrots, as well as chips and salsa. Luke enjoyed that as well. We drove home and played with Legos until lunch time. He had a valiant effort at taking a nap but couldn’t fall asleep. Since it was so beautiful outside we went out and hung bird feeders and a bird house. Home Depot had a special suet with red pepper that squirrels supposedly don’t like. Hopefully it will work. Dinner was a mix of leftovers and although Luke started to get a bit of an attitude afterwards he went to bed okay a few minutes ago. Soon I will ride my exercise bike again. Not sure if I will finish The Expendables 2, but I should at least come close.

Finally out of the house.

This morning I went to Kroger. It was my first time out of the house in a week. Our road was still a mess but Bear Creek and Nashville Highway were fine. The store was restocking but most of what we needed was there. A little later we all drove up to Nashville to celebrate Lauren’s birthday. We played in the back yard and ate pizza. We drove for a couple of hours to get home so that Luke could get in a good nap. At home we unboxed and played with a delayed Christmas present from my parents – building blocks. They were a bit slow in assembly, but Luke enjoyed them. This evening I rode my exercise bike and watched the first 30 minutes of The Expendables 2. That was pretty entertaining and it felt good to get some exercise.

Slow Saturday.

Nothing too out of the ordinary today. Liz and Luke played a lot while I worked on the computer. They went outside as there is still a bit of snow to play in. I watched some online auctions but all of the vehicles I was interested in went too high. Luke didn’t take a nap and was a bit of a challenge for much of the day.
