Action packed day.

This morning we went for a drive in the truck towards the back of the property, then walked around one of the ponds. Luke loved both riding in the back of the truck and the hike. We had lunch and then naps. Afterwards we went for another drive around the farm in the pickup. The weather was lovely and the air fresh. A great respite from all the craziness in the world right now.

In Michigan.

We left the house at 7:32 yesterday evening and arrived at Liz’s parents’ at 6:22 this morning. So under ten hours of driving, which is surely a record for us. We stopped once for gas and twice to stretch our legs. Luke didn’t sleep as much as I would have liked, but overall he did well. I slept from about eight to noon this morning. Liz and Luke slept a lot this afternoon while John and I drove around a bit. We had dinner and then Luke very reluctantly went to bed. John and I drove around some more as it stayed light until after ten.

Playing, mowing, soon to be driving.

We didn’t go to the park this morning, but did manage to play with Legos a bit and read several books. Despite it being super hot Luke wanted to go drive the tractor, so we did a little bit of mowing before the tractor got low on fuel. During his nap I took trash to he dump and filled up Liz’s car with fuel. We decided that we would leave this evening after dinner and bath. So now I am about to load up the car in preparation for driving through the night.

Normal day in abnormal times.

Luke had occupational therapy this morning and we read a lot before then. Afterwards we drove around on the tractor for a bit and read some more. He only napped for about two hours this afternoon. While he slept I worked on designs for the next house. We went to the nature park after Liz got off work. Thankfully it had cooled off a bit. This evening I have been doing more house stuff – plans and materials estimating.

Really hot.

Liz thought that Luke had therapy his morning, but it was actually tomorrow. So upon learning that Luke and I went to the park. Unfortunately it was very crowded, probably due to all the local pools and playgrounds being closed. We didn’t stop at our normal swimming hole, but instead went to another spot that didn’t have any people. It was in the direct sun and a little uncomfortable for me, but Luke didn’t seem to mind. We came home for lunch, he had another pretty long nap, then dinner and bedtime. I think he had a pretty good day.

Warming up.

It got pretty hot today. Luke and I went to the park this morning and played in the creek for a long time. There were tons of other people walking and running around the loop. I think he had a good time. After lunch he took a four hour nap, at which point it was almost dinner time. We dined on the back deck.

Nice weather becoming routine.

Luke and I went to the park after he had speech therapy this morning. He enjoyed playing in the creek. I worked on receipts during nap time, and after he woke up and Liz finished work we went to the nature park. This evening I pretty much finished up the receipts.

Peaceful Sunday.

We went on a very nice walk at the nature park this morning, then we drove to the New Holland dealership so Luke could see the tractors. I worked on my receipts for the Monteagle house during Luke’s nap, and again before and after dinner.

Another beautiful day.

Liz and Luke made breakfast cookies this morning, which everybody enjoyed. Then we loaded up and went to the Maury County Park on the other side of town. What a nice place! We started off on the walking trails, then stopped off at the dog park where Luke was able to watch the dogs play and eat his snack. We walked around some more and checked out the mini train track where the replica small train club hosts events. There was some great playground equipment, and we were able to play on one of the slides. The bigger playsets had other kids playing, so we avoided them. After lunch Luke and I both took naps and then I did some work out back while he and Liz played on the deck. Dinner was on the back deck. Luke enjoyed his bath, as usual.

A pretty fun and dry day.

This morning I packed Luke a snack and we headed to he park. We stayed at the creek for a long time. After a three hour plus nap we went outside with Liz and he was able to ride the tractor for the first time. He really loved that! We had dinner on the back deck and enjoyed the lovely weather.
