Another moving day.
Not for me, thankfully. My sister was relocating to a spot not too far from where she was in Nashville. Unfortunately the new pad was second floor. It wasn’t too difficult though. I hired a guy to help and it took about three hours. There was a wee bit of rain and it was considerably cooler out than it has been. Next week is supposed to be for real cold again.
Another beautiful, productive day.
I started off this morning building a couple of mailbox posts. One for my dad’s new place (to hold four mailboxes) and one for ours. I used Alaskan yellow cedar. Next I hauled more junk to the dump, picked up some diesel fuel, then started a fire. I had a pile that needed to be burned, and was also able to round up lots of other wood and debris around. It really feels good to be getting the yard cleaned up.

Short sleeve weather.
I installed handrails on the porch and deck steps, built racks for the firewood, and cleaned up a lot of the back yard. Also made three trips to the dump. Tomorrow should be another productive day.

Still sunny.
It was a pretty and productive day. I was able to run a lot of errands and even avoided the flooded streets near downtown. I should be well set to get a lot of work done the rest of this week. Luke also had a new day, and seemed to enjoy his new “pit”.

Blue skies and a little surprise.
The sunshine coming through the back doors and windows this morning was wonderful. It is so nice to have a respite from the rain. Last night Liz’s younger brother called to say that he was in town. Quite a shock, seeing how he lives in New York. Anyways, after Luke’s morning nap we went to see him. Liz was happy about that, and Luke was very well behaved. It was nice to get out of the house. Upon returning we continued to unpack and organize. We are slowly getting settled.

Too wet to go out.
It was a stay inside and stay dry kind of day today. We just did more organizing and playing with Luke.

More progress.
I ran errands all morning. Liz took the day off work. Kelly, who is going to help watch Luke started today. Luke did well but missed his afternoon nap. He went to sleep okay tonight though. It is still raining and the water company actually shut down our water at the meter for a while this evening because the filtering plant was flooded. At least the guy at Dollar General said that was probably why they did it. I made a bit of progress on setting up my office, and now the kitchen is just about done.
A more productive day.
Went to the storage unit this morning and got myself a desk and some shelves. The shelves went into the pantry and the desk into my office. It was nice to begin setting up my office. I have several more things to bring in bit this was a good start. I will try to do more tomorrow. It was a little like Christmas opening up all of the boxes. I also put away a lot of kitchen stuff. It is nice to finally have adequate storage space for all of the cooking accessories.
Luke did pretty well today. We played a lot and he took two good naps. He is generally happy.

Fun day with grandparents.
Liz had a work event up in Nashville today so I was initially flying solo with Luke. Then my dad came (with my car, thankfully!) and got to play with him some. Then my mother arrived and helped feed him lunch. He was in an great mood, laughing and having so much fun.
This evening we spent more time setting up the kitchen. It now seems like everything is accounted for, it all just needs to be put in place. I went to Kroger tonight and it leaves a bit to be desired. The selection isn’t as good as ours at Nipper’s Corner, and much to my chagrin they only had self checkout open. If I wanted to ring up groceries I would get a job there!

Slow march towards normalcy.
Everybody slept better last night, except for Lily the cat. And that was by choice, as she wanted to run all through the house. I did a few little tasks around the house today, like knobs on vanity doors/drawers and attempted to install a dimmer switch in the master bath. That didn’t go well, I think because I don’t have compatible light bulbs. We did a lot of unboxing in the kitchen. There is still a ways to go but it feels like we are making progress.
Luke had his nine month check-up this afternoon, a month and a half late. The doctor said he is doing great. I read to him a little this afternoon before dinner. He ate his solid food very well and went to bed easily.
