Quick Mountain trip.

This morning I went to the dump, Harbor Freight, and the auto parts store. After that John and I drove up to Monteagle. We went to Hank’s Corner Grill in Tracy City for lunch. It was pretty good. From there we went by the tiny homes and then the new property. We drove home via Bell Buckle. This evening we just had dinner then I messed around on the computer.

Getting more done.

Luke got a pretty early start this morning. After breakfast John and I finished installing the new fan in the playroom while he watched. Today was my dad’s birthday so we had a video call with him. Then we finished installing the light bar on the lawn mower. After lunch we went to rent a little backhoe to do a bit of work. We started burning the pile out back and moving some dirt around. After dinner everybody just sort of went their separate ways to relax.

Cold but productive day.

Last night got a little crazy after I posted. My father-in-law called about 8:45 saying they had a flat in Cool Springs and his jack failed as he was changing the tire. So I drove up there with a couple of jacks and we got it sorted. We took the backroads home because the donut spare was so tiny. This morning Becky and I took Luke to High Hopes. That went well. Back at home John and I worked on several little projects. We put the kitchen light on a dimmer switch, started swapping out the playroom fan, and worked on adding a light bar to the lawn mower. After lunch we went to Home Depot, Harbor Freight, and Lowe’s. We did a little more electrical work and set the lawn mower battery up to charge. We moved the landscape truck and changed the oil filter. Tomorrow we will get more oil and try to start it. We went to a taco shop on the other side of town to pick up dinner for everybody. Luke went down to bed without much issue.

Legos, outside, Home Depot.

This morning we built more with Legos, then went outside until lunch time. Luke was upset because we didn’t hook up my car to the landscape truck and pull it. I told him we would do that later. After lunch he kind of tried to nap, but didn’t. SO we built some more Legos then I asked if he wanted to go to Home Depot. He said yes, and as expected fell asleep on the way there. So we drove around and then parked so he could get a good nap. We went into Home Depot once he woke up, and he had a good time. We got a ceiling fan and some materials for making bird feeders. He helped Liz prepare dinner when we came back to the house. Bath and bedtime went well and now he is asleep. Liz parents are coming in this evening and will stay for a week.

Legos, Pop, making messes.

This morning Luke and I played with Legos before going up to Franklin and meeting my dad at the park. Luke had a lot of fun there playing on the playground and pushing his stroller all over. We returned home for lunch and after he attempted to nap. That didn’t go well but he at least got some quiet time. After that we built more Legos then went outside. We drove to the back of the property and then walked around some. We returned inside once Liz got off work. I then went into town to see the tractor dealer, auto mechanic, gun shop, and auto parts store. Dinner was a nice Asian dish I made in the slow cooker. There was a lot of clean up before bath since Luke made several messes throughout the house. Liz is putting him to bed now.

High Hopes, walking, playing, napping, outside.

At the last minute I ended up going with Liz and Luke to High Hopes because we had some things to discuss. I dropped them of at High Hopes and went to Home Depot. As I was getting out of the car I realized that Liz had the key fob. Unfortunately I had already turned off the car. Fortunately it was only about a fifteen minute walk back to High Hopes, and it wasn’t cold or raining. I returned to the car with barely enough time to go to Publix and get a few things for Luke. Back at home Luke and I played with Legos, and he actually had a decent nap after lunch. We went outside after snack and he had fun. Dinner was good and Liz is putting him to bed now.

Back home.

I didn’t fall asleep until well past midnight last night, so I attempted to sleep in this morning. That didn’t really work, but I did stay in bed pretty late. Upon waking I split a little more firewood, straightened up the cottage, and gathered leaves for compost at the new property. I drove home via Fayetteville and was rained on the whole time, although without any intensity. Luke was attempting to nap when I arrived, but he heard me and all hope was lost. So we played with Legos and then he went with Liz to Target. Dinner and bedtime went pretty well.

Back on the Mountain, loving the beautiful weather.

This morning I hooked up my favorite military trailer and drove to Monteagle. I was meeting a guy from Georgia who was going to buy it. While waiting for him to arrive I split some firewood, which kept me warm. He came and was very friendly, and paid cash, so I was very pleased. I split some more firewood then went to CVS for some vitamin B12 syrup before going to meet a friend of a friend at her new property on the other side of town. It was a nice spot with an amazing view. She plans to build there. Next I went to see Debbie and stayed there for a pretty good while. Lots of customers came and bought a bit. After that I went to the Goat Market and chatted with Eric. Piggly Wiggly was my final stop of the day. I wasn’t as productive as I should have been, so will try to do better tomorrow. This evening I have just been working on materials lists for the houses and messing around on my phone.

Napping streak comes to an end.

Another early morning for Luke. We built more Legos and went outside for a long time before lunch. He helped me haul some wood to the burn pile. I am pretty pleased with our progress on cleaning up the property. He refused to nap after lunch and had to go to timeout a few times. After snack we built more Legos. Liz got off work and took him back outside while I went to the dump. He went to bed pretty easily I think.

Friday eve.

It was a pretty busy day. Luke and I went to High Hopes this morning for speech therapy. After we returned home and played until lunch. He again napped reluctantly and after snack we went outside. It wasn’t too cold. Luke is getting his bath now and I am planning our garden.
